Chemise - She Can't Love You (Purple Disco Machine Edit)
She Can’t Love You by Chemise still sounds like the future of Funk, 40 years after it’s original release. Jazz/Soul guitarist Ronald Muldrow and singer Rickie Byars Beckwith take influence from early Disco and Funk to create a charming sound of synthesizer and electric pianos. The original 1982 track currently holds 5 Million streams across DSPs, with 250k monthly listeners from only their sole release. Current day German House and disco producer, Purple Disco Machine collaborated with KOOKOO Records to give the track a more contemporary, bouncy, and danceable feel on a brand new edit.
This release includes the vocal version, an instrumental version, a remix, along with the edit by Purple Disco Machine. It is highlighted by its funky synth bass, shimmering Rhodes electric piano, and playful vocals by Rickie Byars Muldrow. For fans of Prince, Luther Vandross, and Sharon Redd.
The single has already made its way to the shelves with a Vinyl release in Summer 2021, and was met with high praise from the community. The Purple Disco Machine edit’s digital treatment was inevitable.
